ANXIETY

Anxiety is a free-floating fear of the future, emanating from something threatening that happened in the past, though you might not remember what happened.
The fear anxiety creates prevents you from living in the present. Anxiety offers information that is initially felt through your body, struggling to become conscious and known. Your body is telling you something important.
Anxiety is a condition which you may have learned to tolerate or suppress. It is commonly treated with medication. With medication, symptoms might be numbed or controlled. While medication may help reduce symptoms, it does not resolve the fear residing within you. Avoiding or numbing anxiety can strengthen its grip; you feel even less in control when you fear the unknown.
I’ve found that getting curious about anxiety, approaching it rather than avoiding it, is the way to resolving it. It is my belief that approaching anxiety makes things less scary and more manageable. Sometimes learning to consciously use your breath helps soothe your body, and helps reduce and even eliminate anxiety. I provide a contained and safe space in Pacific Heights to help you resolve anxiety, to take it on for what it is, to allow it to arise and pass away naturally, as it and everything in life is meant to do.
